UiTM Johor Kampus Segamat is now offering an exciting new programme called LG120 (Diploma in English for Professional Communication) starting September 2018.
This 5-semester programme is tailored towards preparing our graduates with fundamental knowledge prior to working professionally in the industry. It aims at preparing our graduates for various professional positions in the industry. Throughout the program, students will be exposed to English Language knowledge with regard to professional settings as well as workplace needs; specifically in the areas of translation, publication, editing and proofreading. All these skills are vital in producing graduates with high employability status that meets today's global market.
HOW TO APPLY
Through UPU application. UPU code is E2152. UiTM code is LG120.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
SPM or any equivalent examinations recognised by the government of Malaysia with at least 5 credits with at least grade A- in English and grade B in Bahasa Melayu.
And:
Pass the interview and written test conducted by Akademi Pengajian Bahasa.
OR:
SPM or any equivalent examinations recognised by the government of Malaysia with at least 2 credits including English and pass 3 other subjects and 4 years of working experience in related field; publishing, writing, editing, translation or English education.
And:
Pass the interview and written test conducted by Akademi Pengajian Bahasa.
CAREER PROSPECTS
Graduates from APB will be able to find employment in various professional positions such as:
- Customer Service Officer
- Editor
- Management Executive
- Marketing Executive
- Proofreader
- Public Relation Officer
- Translator
Once students have completed this programme, they may choose to pursue the following degree in UiTM Shah Alam:
- LG240: Bachelor of Applied Language Studies (Hons) English for Professional Communication (UPU code: EB00)
- LG243: Bachelor of Applied Language Studies (Hons) English for Intercultural Communication (UPU code: EB02)
